PELVIC FLOOR THERAPY
Pelvic floor therapy is a specialized, non-invasive treatment designed to strengthen and retrain the muscles that support the bladder, uterus, and bowel. When these muscles weaken or become overly tense, it can lead to symptoms such as urinary leakage, pelvic pressure, constipation, postpartum pelvic changes, painful intercourse, and core instability.
At Coast Wellness, we use the Prometheus Pathway CTS-2000, an advanced pelvic floor stimulation system that delivers gentle, targeted, internal neuromuscular stimulation. This technology helps activate and retrain pelvic muscles more effectively than traditional exercises alone, providing faster, more predictable results with improved comfort.
Pelvic floor therapy is safe for women at all stages of life—whether you’re postpartum, peri- or post-menopausal, recovering from surgery, or simply looking to restore pelvic strength and confidence.
WHAT TO EXPECT
When you arrive for your pelvic floor therapy session at Coast Wellness, our team ensures a comfortable, private, and supportive experience.
1. Personalized Assessment
Your provider will review your symptoms, history, and goals.
2. Gentle Pelvic Muscle Stimulation
You will be seated comfortably while the CTS-2000 delivers soft electrical stimulation to the pelvic floor muscles with an internal probe. This contracts and relaxes the muscles in a precise pattern designed to improve tone, strength, and coordination.
3. Guided Sessions
Each session lasts approximately 20–30 minutes. Most patients describe the sensation as gentle tightening or pulses—never painful.
4. Progressive Treatment Plan
Your therapist will monitor your progress and adjust intensity and frequency as your muscles strengthen. Many patients begin noticing improvement within 3–4 sessions, with full benefits typically achieved over a series of treatments.
